    I do. =)

Might be late December, but that’s probably wishful thinking based on my record of hitting release dates. Probably late January.

It really comes down to how many new features I add. The bad part is having to do the boring stuff like adding alpha channel to AVIs and supporting DV AVI natively. The good part (for me) is adding new features such as the looping. I’ll definitely be thinking about the looping, but I’m not saying that the 3.5 update will have looping. I’m not saying it won’t, but I’m not saying it will.

Since I know people will ask, I’m also not releasing a feature list yet. There are some things I’d like to add, but if they turn out to be too difficult (or impossible), I don’t want people disappointed.

If it is a DV AVI, the easiest way to deal with it in pIllusion is to install a DV codec. If you’re looking for a free one, do a websearch for “Panasonic DV codec”.

Sorry, no. I’m not going to give any release dates any more. I will say that it won’t be before November. I’m not saying that it will be in November either.

There is no pI for Motion. Our “Emitters for Motion” product is a set of particle emitters that were made with particleIllusion SE, but were then converted to work with Motion’s own particle system.

As I’ve explained before, we started work on the Mac version of pI3 long before we started working on the AE plug-in, so we’re just finishing off things in order.

  • Check the Layer Angle property. I think it’s not 0.

The March 2000 library contains that emitter.

Also, August 2000 looks like it contains a different “puff” emitter too.

There is a “dust puff” emitter in the “smoke_01” library. It could be a good starting point at least.

Thanks Jeff. I really regret announcing our plug-in so early. Initial development went so quickly, it looked like we’d be done in no time. Then we discovered some problems and had to rewrite a lot of the code, and there are a lot of details to take care of.

I should have remembered my experience when integrating pIllusion into Combustion a few years ago. It took about 3 days (at most) to get pIllusion running in Combustion, then 6 months of work to get “the details” implemented. This included almost full-time support from one of the combustion developers.

It will be finished and released someday. Look how long it took us to get pI3 for OS X done! =)

Sorry, the middle mouse button for scrolling (panning) doesn’t work in 3.0.0 on OS X. I’m working on the update though (ready for release within a month) so I’m glad you reminded me about this.

You should also be able to use the stage window context menu (r-click in the stage window), or the keyboard shortcut of “S”.
