Can you render to other image formats (TGA, PNG, JPG)? Can you load images as layer background images or particle shape images?

  • I’ve not seen this error message before, but here are a few things to try:

    – Restart. This fixes a lot of weird errors.

    – Disable any antivirus or spyware monitor apps

    – You can either run setup.exe from within WinZip (or whatever Zip utility you use) by double-clicking it within the Zip, or by extracting to a temporary folder, then running it there. Whichever method you used, try the other method.

If none of those works, please let me know.

Ah, I forgot about that clip. Just use any particle shape image you want. In this case, Elvis used an animated sequence of a “curly smoke” image. He also used Forces to “blow” the particles in different ways.

I’m not sure what you’re asking. You say that simple dots are not enough, but then point to Elvis’ example, and say that it’s a good example of more than simple dots. But that example just uses simple dots for the particles!

Perhaps you are asking about the particle motion after disintegration? It all depends on what your scene is. In Elvis’ example, he gets shot from the right, so he has the particles move slightly to the left (using the emitter’s emission angle and range), and has them fall (using a fairly high “weight” value).

You can also use forces to make the particles “scatter” in more than one direction.

In SE, all you can do is add the emitter to the stage, load a “Favorites” library, r-click on the stage emitter and “Add to Library”, then load another library, add the emitter to the stage, load the “Favorites” library, etc.

It’s much easier in pIllusion 3.0 with the library manager. (Although I’ve had reports that the Lib Manager in the OS X version crashes a lot)

There’s nothing about pIllusion that requires a special codec. For best quality, I recommend:

    – Huffy UV (free codec, lossless)
    – DivX set to highest bitrate (not lossless, but visually so at the highest bitrates)
    – Xvid (similar to DivX)

Make sure that the alpha (transparency) gradient for the particle starts and ends black, and goes white in the middle, then slide the “repeat” slider to the right. If you slide it all the way right (which I believe the value is “10”) and that’s still not enough “sparkle”, then add points to the gradient so it goes black / white / black / white etc.

Probably means you don’t have a C: drive. Email wondertouch support for more help.

Probably later today. There was one more emitter I was trying to finish up (saw it in a commercial the other day, and not sure if it was pIllusion), then I have to get the files all ready.
