The 20 DPI is wrong — it should be 72 DPI (this will be fixed in a future update). If you want it to be something else, you’ll have to change the DPI setting in your favorite paint app.

There’s a simple workaround for getting the AE7 position data into pI3. Check Aharon’s tutorial:

If you set “velocity” to 0, then the particles won’t move until they enter the force area. Is this what you mean?

I’m not going to answer this — only going to say that we’re still working on it and it will be released as soon as it’s ready. Trust me that you’ll know when it’s close to being released.

It’s a pI3 Windows-only update. Mostly it will provide enhanced movie support — loading of more than just non-DV AVIs. You’ll be able to load WMV, AVI, etc. Possibly MPG and MOV too, but no promises. Also, alpha channels will be supported in movies. (The Mac version of pI3 has all of this already.)

This may end up being 2 updates: one for loading of movies, then one more for writing of movies. Loading of movies works now, but there are some issues I’m working on, mainly speed. It’s pretty slow right now. Beta testing of this phase should start in a few weeks.

Any Macs made in the last 2 years will run pIllusion just fine — they all have OpenGL hardware. Of course, the lower-end Macs have less powerfull graphics cards than the higher-end, pro models.

Note that we have not yet released our Universal version (for the Intel Macs), although we’re working on it and are making good progress. The non-Universal version of pIllusion runs just fine on the Intel Macs under Rosetta, although slower (of course).

Yes, definitely. Along with the email, there will be posts here, and on our website as well.

Do you have the “don’t erase” option checked in the Project Settings?

Also check to see if you can import one of these images as a bg image for a layer. If you get the same error message, then you probably are missing some image DLLs and should reinstall.

You may have a corrupted or missing DLL. I’d reinstall, but backup your Emitter Libraries folder first.
