All 3 of those products can do the “Matrix” effect. The Motion Emitters (all 3 sizes — small, med, large) contain the “Matrix falls” emitter.

particleIllusion SE and particleIllusion 3.0 both can load the “Matrix Falls” emitter too.

The “Motion Emitters” are just collections of particle emitter presets, while particleIllusion SE and 3.0 are standalone apps that can do MANY more effects (SE has over 1100, and 3.0 has over 1800).

The publically-released version (the version you get with the download or CD) doesn’t work in the 64-bit version of XP or Vista. If you email wondertouch support you can get the 64-bit version.

We haven’t released this yet for a couple reasons, the main one being it seems to lose its activation once in a while for no obvious reason, and we’re trying to figure out why.

There’s no “repeat” for the bg images/movie, but you could just create new layers and put the movie on those layers, staggered in time so one copy started when the first ended, etc.

It means some sort of error occurred due to some action you took, in whatever software you’re talking about, on whatever OS you’re using.

If you want a better answer, you really need to give a lot more details.

December 7, 2006 at 7:11 pm in reply to: Warp Lines Out

There are several steps — hope I get them all:

    – r-click on the emitter on the stage and “make line”
    – select “emission angle” in the hierarchy and set to 90
    – select “emission range” and set to 0
    – move the line points so the line is vertical
    – move the emitter to the left edge of the screen
    – open emitter properties dialog and uncheck “emit at points”

You may have to adjust “number”, or “size”

If it’s just an image, you can email that to wondertouch support too.

I don’t understand what you mean by “lean to the left”. Can you post an image?

Particles only move with an emitter if the “attach to emitter” control in the emitter properties dialog is non-zero.

I don’t know why, but uncompressed is a problem sometimes in pIllusion. Download Huffy UV, which uses lossless compression but creates smaller files than uncompressed, and always works in pIllusion.

    2 Things to check:

    1) On the OpenGL page of particleIllusion Preferences, check the “do not use texture RAM for bg images” option.

    2) What format (codec) are the movies in? Are the ones that work the same format as the ones that do not work? I suggest DivX, or Huffy UV — both free downloads (search the web for them).
