  • This is something that bothers me too, and will be fixed in the future.

Unfortunately, not this month, but it should be ready in February. There are some issues to resolve, and I’m working on several different projects right now. For instance, there are some crash-causing bugs in the Mac version that I need to find and fix. Crashes are higher priority with me than new features, but I’d MUCH rather be working on new features.

Not on OS X. Now that you’ve reminded me that this was never added to the Mac version, and now that I know that somebody actually wants to use this feature (nothing worse than wasting time on a feature nobody will ever use), I can take a look at it.

We’re beta testing 3.0.5 right now, so this is good timing.

email wondertouch support with your name, OS, system information — whatever would be helpful.

You say you’re using a pI3 demo — what version does it display in the “about” box? It has to be 3.0.1a or better.

Make sure that if it’s a project file (ipf or ip3) then you use the “File – Open” menu to open the project. If it’s a library file (iel or il3) then r-click in the library window and “load library”.

I don’t think you’ll be able to do this with particleIllusion (or any sprite-based particle system) as it’s a very 3D effect. You’ll probably need to do it in a 3D app.

January 15, 2007 at 8:29 pm in reply to: What type of .avi?

You should post more information — a step-by-step guide of what you’re trying to do. For instance:

    1) connect my video camera and use Windows Movie Maker to import
    2) Use ___ software to convert to AVI using the following settings:_____
    3) When I load the resulting AVI into particleIllusion, I get the following error message: ______

Just saying “it doesn’t work” doesn’t give us enough information. If “it doesn’t work” is all you can tell us, then my answer to you is “you’re doing something wrong”.

  • I do not know what you mean by “lower resolution”.

Try turning off hardware accleration in the OpenGL page of particleIllusion Preferences. If that works better (but it will be slower), then you need to get updated video drivers from your graphics card manufacturer.
