Pc users have a wonderful little utility called Scene Analyser Live for capture/preview of DV. Surely there is something similar to MacHeads.

Any offers? I understand Sorensen Squeeze 3 is capable of capturing fcp friendly clips.

Also it was only the audio that needed rendering in fcp and once rendered was fine. If iMovie captures at 32k 12bit that would explain it.

FCP is not very clever handling bitmap sequences. the best way I’ve discovered of doing this is Opening the sequence in Motion and then bringing that into FCP.

Another problem with stills in FCP is that there is a limit on the duration allowed in the timeline without having to change the still’s parameters in the browser.
