    Thanks Stephen.

Actually I’ve got to the bottom of it now. Both remotes had flat batteries, but the one that came with the EX1 recently, had 2.8v registering when I tested, so I assumed all was well.

It worked when I replaced with a fresh battery.

Seems I’ll be removing the batteries from the EX AND the commander now on a regular basis!

This is really bad news, I was relying of being able to activate/deactivate record remotely if nothing else.

The camera’s just been in for a 1.1 firmware upgrade, I wonder if that’s the issue.

Can I ask any of you who have an EX1 (and the time) to try the commander for me. I’m tempted for a warrenty repair.

BTW I am in front of the camera pointing the remote at the receiver!

I agree to some extent David, I think the more options available the better and a cheap card that you can hand over to the client there and then, or for archive purposes?? who knows?

I’ve an EX and also read those posts Noah.

Having just had the firmware upgrade, I’ve ordered the necessary kensington and Transcend flash memory.

I’ll let you know how I get on. It’s a much cheaper solution if it works.

    thanks Rafael,

Sorry to hear about your defragging woes. Touch wood I’ve had no issues with DriveGenius. Although it won’t boot, so I can’t maintain the home drive.

Re: Xdcam Transfer, I’ve tried trashing the prefs. I’m having trouble finding 2.7.1 on the web for download, but think that’s my next step.

    Thanks Rafael.

Being a PC man I worry about defragging whatever the drive state. Also I have a lot of projects on the go simultaneously so never get the chance to reformat the raids.

Yes that’s the way I us the EX transfer software, it’s been playing up since I started using it on Leopard. So 2.5 is running perfectly under leopard on your MBP?

Thanks a lot for this Rafael,

I’ve just migrated over to Leopard on my MBP and so will do what you suggest. I have a copy of DriveGenius that is compatible with Leopard but dont think my old DiskWarrior is.

I know you are a XDcam user and have found a problem with XDcam Trasfer 2.5 in my Leopard. It had problems sorting and displaying the clips status. Are you experiencing this on your machine? Perhaps I should upgrade to 2.7?

    Many thanks

    Rafael,

Could you expand on what we should do to keep the system ‘maintained’

    Many thanks

Bob, but please don’t confuse the issue by using wrong units. MB/s v Mb/s v mb/s these are different beasts!
