    Thanks for suggestions guys …
can’t find out too much about MC Soft …. presuming its a Media Composer lite type of programme?
VLC has the odd habit of playing some OMF files perfectly well .. the majority tho, it’ll play for a frame or two and then minimise as if it’s an audio track I’m trying to play …. media tool, “frame view” gives me a series of static black frames .. if there’s a play button there I can’t find it….

Think I’m gonna bite the bullet and delete these media files from the C drive … even if I can identify what they are, is there a way of linking them to a new project?

    Hi Jeff,
am having the same problem but the above “cure” isn’t working …
It is the whole folder called Media Cache I have to delete and not go in and delete it’s contents?

I tried another route of encoding my original QT ref via sorenson into an m2v … that got to 75% and stopped importing!

    any clues ?

    thanks in advance

Hi Henry this is something I do all the time with encore …
Firstly take your video footage that you’d like to be seen first and put on a timeline on it’s own …. make that first play by right clicking the timeline in the project window and select first play … then make the end action of that video the menu …

    Good luck ….

    Thanks Jeff,
is the process explained in your book (which I have)…
I guess you set in / out points on the time line and set a higher bit rate for footage with lots of changes within the frame and lower for less?

I’ve got the same thing ………I just changed my settings in procoder from Picture substructure “Always Frame” to “Always Field” to solve one problem (heavy banding due to interlace issue) and now I’ve got this for the first time! Had any luck figuring it out?

I’ll change those dimensions …. Re Field Order, it’s lower first according to Sony Tech help …
