    Hey Don!

Appreciate the follow-up, and would be interested if you discover a work around. I do have a whole LACIE Raid just sitting in a box that could be used for something!

Yeah the tech support ended up telling me to take it into a Best Buy “Geek Squad” to fix it, and I thought that doesn’t seem right…

But please do share what you find out, it could also help somebody in the future that runs into this issue.

    Thanks again,
    Alan

    Hey Don,

    Unfortunately, no.

The good news is the material on the drives are ok. I was lucky because my work has 2 LACIE Big 6 Raids that I was able to swap drives in, and it mounted. I had the run around trying to find support from LACIE but I mostly ran into bot customer service. I think they are now owned by Seagate, so it’s a headache to get ahold of anyone.

Let me know if you have any luck!

  • Thank you for the reply!

Looks like it’ll be an edit, so I will charge accordingly. I didn’t know if he wanted to get all the assets from me and if technically he had a right to do that. Nothing was discussed about that. I’m just a pack rat and save everything.

    Thanks Jeremy!

  • Appreciate the help. The drive was striped raid – 0 before I started working at my current job. I would have also advised not to do that.

I basically just wanted to know why it kept ejecting the drives, I’d prefer to grab my large data from these drives (since they are ok) before having to pull them from our cloud storage. The drives I recall are Seagates, 3TB.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. Neil, I will try that!

    Ahhh yes! Thank you!
When I set it up in Avid it was in a simple place too! Totally over looked it here, thanks again!

    Hey Bill!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll get that adapter!

For the cost of renting that Metabones adapter, I’ll just get that adapter. I appreciate your advice!

    Thanks

    Hey Guys!

Thanks for the advice David. Fortunately, my client is looking to invest in some gear, so I will bring up the LTO option as well. Apparently they were working out of a post house on an ISIS, and now everything is scattered, and is a huge mess, that I get to deal with! I appreciate your response.

Matt, thanks for the advice, your products look good, I’ll email you with some questions and a quote.

    Thanks all!

    Thanks Steve for the response!

That is what I mean when I say “hacked”.

So, is there anything to stop the 7D from locking up or crashing? Factory reset or something?

    Thanks for the help,

    Alan

They are MXF files, and not AMA. When I choose “Relink” it never finds the clips. I have trashed the databases and reloaded avid (it takes a minute to re build).

Are there settings in the “Relink” I’m maybe missing?

    thanks guys

    Alan
