We are sorry for the delay regarding the release of the new AJA Control Room software. As noted in this thread, AJA doesn’t believe in releasing hardware or software prematurely. The software continues to receive development and QA efforts and we hope to release it soon.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

November 29, 2011 at 7:48 pm in reply to: Which AJA Card or will Io LA continue to work? The AJA Io LA is now an end-of-life product. It was specifically designed to work with Final Cut Pro. If you are considering a new computer and card purchase, AJA offers two choices that would support ingest from Betacam SP and HD video monitoring via a variety of applications.
The first choice is the KONA LHe Plus. It provides analog and digital i/o and would allow you to ingest from Betacam SP via component analog connection. You can also use the KONA LHe Plus for HD monitoring via SDI or component analog. You can learn more about the product here:
https://www.aja.com/products/kona/konalheplus/AJA also offers the KONA LHi. Like the KONA LHe Plus, it provides analog and digital i/o, but in addition to SDI digital connectivity, it also offers HDMI i/o. In addition to this connectivity difference, the AJA KONA LHi can perform up/down/crossconversions. You can learn more about the product here:
https://www.aja.com/products/kona/konalhi/A comparison of the various AJA KONA card offerings is provided at this link:

November 29, 2011 at 7:37 pm in reply to: 1080sf23.98 on KONA LHi in FCP7 & Avid MC6The KONA LHi does support 1080PsF 23.98 output from Avid Media Composer 6, but only via the SDI and component outputs. HDMI does not typically offer support for PsF, only true progressive or interlace 1080. As you noted in your post, some applications provide the ability to change the output to true progressive, thereby enabling the ability to use the HDMI output, but the Avid Media Composer software does not provide this capability. If possible, route SDI or component to your monitor. If that is not possible, you might consider using a converter, such as the AJA HDP2, that provides a “force progressive” capability to take an incoming PsF signal and produce a true progressive output for HDMI monitoring.
If you have additional questions, please don’t hesitate to contact AJA Technical Support for assistance.

Many applications release the AJA hardware for use when they are not in focus; this allows you to switch between applications and use the AJA hardware for video output. At this time, this is not possible when using Avid software. Only the method as outlined in the document and posted to this thread is possible.

Please refer to page 7 of the Avid and AJA document found here for more information:

“Using Other Applications and the AJA Control Panel”
It is important to remember that when the Avid software is being used that the AJA hardware is not accessible by other applications. In order to use the AJA hardware with other software applications, you will need to quit the Avid software and wait for the AJA Control Panel to no longer report “AjA Device in use by App (Avid)”.
