Hi Jeremy,
So you are saying I should Media Manage the project that I already created with Media Manager (create offline etc)?

HI Shane,
So is there a way to avoid having to manually add a suffix to many clips when I do an online uprezz (from a project created with the “Media Manager – create offline” tool?
Thanks

Thanks for the responses to some of my issues….
Anyone know anything about colour correction with this workflow…..
If I colour correct in my DVCProHD timeline, and then output to SD using the Kona card, will my colour corrections that appear broadcast legal in my timeline, still be legal on my SD tape?

Hey…
Thanks for the reply….
Actually I do mean ‘uprezz’ as the offline was done at photo jpeg…

Another issue related to this project…..
Are there any issues with capturing HDV footage with the AJA Kona codec DVCProHD1080i?
For media storage and speed issues I may have to use DVCProHD instead of uncompressed…..
Does anyone have experience with this conversion and are there any issues I should look for?

Further to this post…..
If I colour correction occurs in HD and then the project is converted to SD via the Kona card on output, will the levels still be broadcast legal on my SD output or could the levels shift during the conversion?

Hi Shane,
Ok….I checked….it’s an LH card….with component outputs…..
Again……my concern with capturing at 4:3 is that I will almost certainly need to reposition and possibly resize some shots manually for the best 4:3 results…… Unforunately the show cannot be letterboxed. I believe that it was more or less shot with 4:3 in mind – but I think that this was not always strictly adhered to.
So, I think I need to get the footage into the computer at some sort HD high res format (16:9). Then resize in FCP manually where necessary. Then convert to SD – either with the Kona card or via some other method (Compressor?).
Another complicating issue is that the first episode of this show has been uprezzed using firewire and the HDV codec. I’m not sure whether we can use this material or if we need to ditch it and start again.
Thanks for your prompt response to my first post!

Hi Walter….
Thanks for this……now the manual claims the filter will fix the chroma as well….are you saying this doesn’t work properly?

That’s good to know…..
What do you do about FCP text? We have a lot of FCP title tool text that is white with a black drop shadow. Even when we put the broadcast filter on these, the Range Check symbol still says these titles are not broadcast safe.
Thanks
