I probably didn’t word it very well, sorry, basically, when I render a video, Vegas renders 24 frames, or 29 frames, depending on what the framerate is, e.g if I was rendering 60fps, Vegas would render 60 frames, and then pause for 2-3 seconds, then continue to render another set of 24, 29, 60 frames, and so on, hopefully this was easier to understand, and I have never encountered this problem before either, I just upgraded from 10.0 and now I have this problem.

    Graham,

I fully understood your post until I got to step 3 and then my brain melted, where you say depending on the complexity of the edit you would render directly to DVD files or lossless, I assume you are referring to how much editing has been done, and in this case, virtually none, all I did was cut some parts out and add some colour curves, so what would you recommend for me? and I will need you to go into some detail because as I mentioned before, I have no idea what I am talking about here, thank you.

Steve, I did what you said and rendered to Sony AVC and it worked fine no crashes, the problem I have now is the framerate, when I watch the movie it lags and I can’t seem to fix it with trial and error, I have rendered a bunch of small tests using various framerates and messing around with the settings, but none seem to work, would you or anyone else happen to know the ideal render settings for a smooth picture?

The video was recorded in 60 fps and I have been rendering to 29fps NTSC and 24fps Film, while changing some of the settings hoping to get the right combination.

@Steve Rhoden I forgot to mention in my original post that I don’t have much experience with this, I just assumed MainConcept was the best, I will try Sony AVC and get back to you, thanks.

Like Nigel said, it would be helpful to know what PVR you are using, I myself use a Hauppauge HDPVR and I know that there are problems with using the files in Vegas, if by any chance you are also using the Hauppauge, then I would recommend using the Playstation 3 option to record your videos (m2ts format), I have always used it and never had any problems.
