    Hi
I’m experiencing the same problem that you were in 2015. That is, unlike the Videocopilot tutorial I cannot get the layer to animate blur in 3D space like they did in the tutorial. Did you ever get to the bottom of this?

That worked brilliantly – you Sir are a star!

I didn’t get any real resolution to my last post, no one offered a lut. (Still welcome if you have it)

What I did was import a scene into after effects which correctly scaled the shot.
I then exported this as a jpeg and imported it into resolve as a still.
I then used this still to build a grade on a node to correctly scale the shot in resolve.
I didn’t make this as a lut but I could of I suppose.
This approximation was my starting point and I applied this to all on a node. I then graded on separate nodes after this.
The results were fine and I seem to have access to plenty of latitude.
    Bon Change

    Hi Alexander,
Did you ever get a final answer to this?
I have exactly the same problem and we’re fairly sure we need a linear to SRGB Lut.
Or we need to get Resolve to read the file as linear.

    That’s great thanks.
I wonder what sort of extra creative options people feel and output lut gives over an input lut.

    Some progress,
Spoke to BM who suggested trying swapping 8 bit.
This worked MUCH quicker and easily does a couple of grade nodes an a shape without cache.

I’m awaiting their return to work from IBC when they say they’ll give me an answer.

8 bit works so much better than 10 I don’ think it’s a processing issue as 10 bit won’t play back even without any grade nodes.

We need to get 10 bit dual stream layoff to tape sorted though – I’ll keep you posted.

Thats great to hear – thanks.
We’ve got two 4800 cards in an expansion chassis but we simply can’t get it to play back at full speed, even with no grades on it. We’ll keep plugging on though.

Thanks – don’t know why it’s so difficult though. I can see some edit tools onscreen in an online video of V8 so lets hope it solves this problem

I tried this and it works well for simple grades, but for more complex grades (different shapes etc) it falls down. The system is able to dissolves between two grades on the timeline when and EDL tells it to but splitting a shot in the conform and manually adding a dissolve doesn’t seem possible. Sure I can add edits into the master session but that’s not the same as modifying a conform from edl.
