    Hi,
No, on the Mac (OSX) After Effects can only use 2GB of RAM regardless of the version.
On the PC (utilizing the “secrect switch”) it can use 3GB of RAM.

January 16, 2007 at 2:11 pm in reply to: Sound Quality of my Tutorials/podcasts?

    Hi Aharon,
throwing in my 2 cents worth…..
In my opinion the sound quality is very good. I’m listening to your tuts on my home and work computers ( using a headset ).
The “moooh” at the beginning is not too loud-it’s just right to get the attention.

Maybe some “city-slickers” out there have a problem with the moooh, because they have never heard a real cow mooing, and would rather hear some car honking instead ;))
Keep up the great work Aharon.

    Hi,
Aharon Rabinowitz also did a great tutorial on how to create a flock of birds entirely in After Effects.
Click on his portrait and scroll down to “creating a flock of birds part 1 and 2”.
    … choose your weapon;)

December 28, 2006 at 3:55 pm in reply to: Illustrator files for text

    Hi,
in Illustrator, convert the text to outlines and save as Illustrator file.
Make sure that “compression” is turned off. That should work.

Not sure why the font isn’t showing up in ProAnimator. Are you on a Mac or PC?
I tried it on my Mac ( I’m using Suitcase to manage fonts) with different fonts and they all work.
After I activate the fonts in Suitcase, I have to restart After Effects in order for the new activated font to show up
    in ProAnimator.
    Hope that helps.

  • Hi,
you also could make the shape with the 2 colors in AE, using the “RAMP” effect. Create a solid and apply the ramp effect to your shape, assign your two colors and use the crosshair to set where you want the 2nd color to start. That will give you a sharp edge between the two colors, so it’s not fading between them.

    cheers!

  • Rule of thumb is: keep the resolution between 1.5-2 times the screen frequency that it will be printed in.
Ask the printer what screen ruling they will print in.
For example: if the printer is printing it with 150 linescreen, the resolution should be between 225 and 300 dpi,
if the printer is printing at 200 linescreen, the resolution should be between 300-400dpi.
This applies to offset printing; screenprinting and digital presses have different requirements.

    Hi,
after you create the 3d object, go to the Menue bar and choose , that’ll break your object in selectable pieces, that you can colorize with your desired spot color. Hope that helps.
