    Use the material>environment channel.

If you want to reveal a second material you would just put a second material on your object. You’ll see that the new texture tag appears to the right of the original texture tag on the object. Drag the original material’s tag (the one with the alpha channel) to the right of the other tag and you’ll be good to go.

The texture tag’s act as a basic layering system, with the bottom layer at the left and the top layer at the far right.

Are you using standard particles or Thinking Particles? If standard particles you can put a constraint tag on your particle object and use an aim constraint to keep the object facing in the Y direction.

  • Looks to me like you may need to increase the ray depth in render options.

I don’t think it’s possible since the metaballs are continually generating a new surface and the cloner has to recalculate each time the surface changes. Maybe you can use vertex mode and use another method to give it more randomness. Maybe a Random effector or shader effector with noise shader affecting visibility?

Better, but it still doesn’t look right without refraction.

No way to adjust the tension of b-spline points. As you’ve surmised, the only way is to add more points.

R14 what? The program comes in a variety of versions. The Studio version includes all functions while Prime, Broadcast, and Visualize each include different subsets of features.

Actually it doesn’t shock me that Blender is picking up market share. It’s hard to compete with free and it’s getting more and more sophisticated. It’s been eons since I tried it so I can’t comment on how it stacks up from a practical perspective.

Which version of the software did you buy? I believe only Broadcast and Studio have the full set of Mograph tools.
