October 25, 2011 at 8:44 am in reply to: Using AE, CameraTracker and Cinema 4D to add 3D text to video scene – workflow questionThe process would be to create your camera solve in AE, create some nulls using the Cameratracker software (these can be used as anchor points in your 3d app), export the tracking and camera data to C4d. You will need to manually copy the cameras focal length to the camera in C4d as that data does not get exported.
In C4D place you text where you want it. I usually load the video file into a background object in C4D so i can check the 3d is aligned where i want it. Then you will need to render out the animation.
Don’t try to do the comp in C4d as it will take forever to make any changes. The best way would be to switch the background object off, then render multiple layers (The greyscale gorrilla video shows this process well).
Its not an easy thing to do if you are a novice – but then its a good technique to learn and what better time than now?good luck

sorry, i don’t think you have any other option than to wait it out.
2.7tb is a LOT of data. I regularly backup twice that amount (going via fibre channel / cat6 1gb ethernet and Raids) and it usually takes around 30hours. Thats what weekends are for!
The only thing that will happen by stopping your transfer to do tests is that you will take longer to finish the transfer!
and if your drive is faulty, the important thing to do first is get the data off it – the more tests you do, the greater the risk of disk failure before you complete the transfer.

I often have to send 2-3gb of data to Adstream in prep for broadcasting, and with our companies 100mb leased line, i can only ever seem to shift around 2gb per hour, and that is dependant upon the overall data use of the network at the time.
I really wouldnt want to try shifting much more than that.

theres a fantastic product you can buy for relatively small amounts that will give you a battery powered flexible sheet of light.
https://www.microstru.com/Experimenter-Kits.html
It looks really easy to use, and should give you a much better starting point than trying to fix it in post.

20gigs over the internet – expect several days of continuous downloading…and don’t forget that uploading will take even longer unless you have a special internet account allowing for same speed up/downloads.
It will probably be far quicker to collect the drives, regardless of where you are in England.

how do you expect to see a lens flare on a white solid?
Try it on a black solid, with the black solid set to screen transfer mode
