you could also convert it to .swf then embed the video using an activex control
flash is, after all, the most widely compatible video format on the planetjust look for “powerpoint flash integration” on the microsoft office site – gives you the breakdown on how to do it. Not the simplest method, but at least can embed the video, rather than link it.

I had the same problem with using Farsi in Vegas 5 & 7, so used another program to get Vegas to display it correctly. Was painful, since create text in (eg) notepad, copy into this other application, then copy it out of there and paste into the Vegas titler.
NOW it’s no longer an issue, since vegas 8 supports unicode text, so can create it directly in vegas.
I suggest you download the trial version – the time saved / ease of use should pay for the upgrade(USD135) immediately

I installed v8 on Vista Business – was self install, so completely clean. Bought laptop without OS.
2.4ghz, 2GB, Nvidia 8600 GT 512MB, 1680 x 1050, 160GB 7200rpm – Zepto 6625WD.
so far have been running vista smoothly, with aero / the whole works. Will turn it off someday, but am enjoying the visuals for the mo. 😉 But am not editing HDV right now.
on multitrack project, with main track having FX applied(glow, gradient, film fx), still runs smoothly.

[rob mack] “you’re probably giving the one example where Takes actually addresses the problem. Since you’re just talking about replacing a clip you can right-drag from the trimmer over the existing clip and then choose “add as takes”.”
but it’s not really a 4 point edit is it? (i.e. In and out on timeline and nowline on timeline = nowline on clip). Presumably I then have slip the alternate take to get the new clip in the right place?
I assume once you have multiple takes, you cycle them with ‘T’?

it goes up on Oct 31, not Oct 1st

you can, if you make the END ACTION for each section lead on to the next section.
you could also have rendered each section as an avi, then dropped all 9 avis into one timeline for a single render to mpeg2 for dvd
I assume you had 9 projects nested in one project originally? -
good luck! people have enough difficulty removing noise or glitches – removing entire backing sound ain’t gonna be easy

a Danish brand: Zepto – http://www.zepto.com
I assume they don’t sell in the US or Canada yet.he won’t need Ultimate – that’s a waste of money. I bought Business edition due to the sync, encryption and networking extras, but most people seem quite happy with Home Premium.
my vid card is an Nvidia 8600 GT 512MB. Any vid card will be good for vegas, so is not an issue. I wanted the extra grunt for After Effects rendering.

I just bought a new laptop, and ordered Vista Business 64 separately (cheaper). Decided to go the vista route, since been a while since launch / why not get it / etc?
result: smoothest install of windows yet, for me. flawless. Immediate web access via router too, without touching any settings.
installed V8 trial, and working flawlessly too.I like. no grief yet. 🙂 Is not beta any more IMHO
