Some have used the audio as the “base” inserting that into the timeline first and working from there. Seems to be the best approach.

There are no more “Sequences” anymore. Some are looking at “compound clips” as a replacement. You can work inside the cc and move things around, then, MOVE THE ENTIRE Compound clip (ie – “sequence”) around as one. For someone like me, who used multiple sequences, this is a nice work around…it actually would run smoother.

My apologies, I actually READ the article (ah, duh!) and I get it. Not cool at all….I thought this was just more useless bitching, but the guy is kind of a *warm turd.

*Note: No one paid me to say that.

You need to seriously rethink this – he’s a columnist. This isn’t hard news, and there is no “ethics violation” in massaging PR sources. He gets on their good side, every journalist does this.

People just LOOOOOOOVVVVEEEEEE to hate this guy, don’t they?

  • Compound clips are SO the new Sequences…

Thought the same thing yesterday. Works pretty nice.

  • I was posting it because of the shock/humor in it.

Copies are selling for 800-1200 now on ebay. This poor person sold theirs at the wrong time.

I exist in a similar, though much smaller user-end, situation.

I think the gist of what we are seeing here, is that we have that “wait and see” attitude. If things start really progressing with FCPx, then we’ll jump. Until then, we have to wait and see. No one is holding a gun to our head to switch. Still, I’m using it myself. I want to know…and I mean REALLY know what the software is all about, how we can use it and how good it really is. One thing it has going for it – speed. The rest? We’ll see.

Still, I think that for us, it comes down to this – if we make the jump, we will eventually have to leap from FCP7 to something…either FCPX or Adobe.

After reading the first part of this thread, I was borderline appalled at the brashness of coming to an Apple FCPx forum and just busting out with that.

But after reading through the thread, and also noticing another instance in a DIFFERENT thread where a separate Adobe employee answered another question, I have to say I am thoroughly impressed. It’s a bold move guys and I think it will work.

I’ve toyed with Premiere and think it’s a great program. This offer is certainly a nice touch and it shows you are listening.

    Happy I could (possibly) help.

More than likely, 64bit is on by default, but it is worth checking out. (mine was on)
