This continues to happen. I even let the computer sit OVERNIGHT and it wouldn’t play the audio without a reboot.
This is, most definitely a bug of some sort. I’m about to wipe my system and start over.

I can only hope I’m so lucky!
So sometimes, it works, other times it doesn’t. This most recent incident, it worked like a charm. Eveyrthing was fine. Then the audio went away. Left the computer on, and it sitting there and when I came back the darned thing had fixed itself.
So, maybe it’s a combination of muxing and new problem. Maybe it has something to do with having an old version on my computer. I dunno. I was about 20 minutes away from wiping and reinstalling everything. So, I’m glad it didn’t come to that……yet.

Yes. Generally 1-2 hours, sometimes longer. I wait until the status bar has finished before I even start bringing them into the timeline.
If the problem is muxing, how in the world do I fix this? My workflow hasn’t changed in 5years, the only change has been to the updates in premiere. And the files play fine elsewhere.

Actually, just running into this problem myself, but not as steep of temps (that I know of…) Mine have been between 100-112
Mine actually went into “deep sleep” a few days ago…it shutdown. I blame the heat wave in the North East.
I downloaded smcFanControl (free) and have made a preset to kick up the fan on the CPU and GPU for video editing. It’s a nifty little program. You can customize it and it tells you how hot your program is running.
Part of the make-up of the imac is that the aluminum body is sort of a giant heat-sink; the back and top of the computer do get hot to the touch, because it effectively cools the internals that way.

Shouldn’t have to do that even! There is an option under the “inspector” to click for analyzing and stabilization (even a box for rolling shutter) You can do this on import, or after-the-fact, if you like. Not bad.

That’s pretty funny….and well done, I might add. For a bunch of creative types, I’ve seen a few sub-par “I hate FCPX” type videos so far, so it’s refreshing to see.

Looks like it is down:

You can also check:

I saw this posted on here a few times, and to be honest, I don’t know what to make of it.
How do we take this? It smells a little like sour grapes, but certainly has valid points. I also have to wonder about his “10,000 high end” editor number. I would think that those people are not held to one system/software platform.
Where it puts us, I don’t know, but I’m taking this blog post with a grain of salt.
