I am trying to use Levellator but it does not seem to work.

I am selecting a clip in the timeline, exporting just the audio to an AIFF file then putting that file into Levellator. This is what I get.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks

    FCP X 10.2

  • So what you’re saying is that I have 2 cameras 1 was shot with 30 FPS and the other 24 FPS I can make them both 24 FPS with Rate Conform in FCP X? How would I do this? Can I do it as I import it or after?

    Thanks

It’s a compound clip. The whole timeline is different compound clips.

    HI,

I have mostly Audio straight from the camera and there is about 4-5 minutes of H4N Audio. The whole clip is about 20 minutes long.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Here is a revision I did. Now both fades are 1 second and I made the 1st part of the clip a little louder than the 2nd part as you can see from the keyframes. ( I made a range in the first part and brought the levels up a little)

    Hi Bret,

Ok I tried it this way.

I expanded Audio, went to the beginning of the clip, dragged it to the right up to the point where I want it to fade in. I then used the Circle and moved it up one second to create my 1 second fade in. I then set a range to level out the audio for the rest of the clip until the end where I used my circle to create a 1 second fade down. I have attached a picture.

Also, after I create a range and tweek my audio and move onto another clip. Is there a way to go back to a range that you set and other raise or lower the audio in case yu play it back and it’s just not right?

    Thanks again.

  • Thanks a lot. I will do that from now on.

  • Thanks everyone. I basically solved the problem. I took the one clip that’s on the higher track and moved it to the lower track and moved the lower track to he higher one. Then when I deleted the gap, it worked fine. I appreciate everything you did in trying to solve my problem.

I just asked a question about Audio and Dual Track mode. I hope you can help me out with that as well.

I have been working with FCP 7 for years and have that software down and am used to it. I’m working my way through FCPX. I’ll get it soon as well Just need a little help no for certain things.

    Thanks again.

  • Hi John,

    Here’s what I did:

    1) I connected the Audio to the clip to the right of it as you can see.

    2) I then deleted the gap.

    3) When I do that that, the clip moves over to the left against another clip. But the clip moves up one track and the overlaps.

How can I avoid the overlapping and that clip moving up one level? I want to be able to put a transition between the audio clips.

I have attached more pictures to show you what I mean.

  • Hi,

Yes, When I put the audio down by pressing the “Append to Storyline” Button it puts it on the primary track, Where all of my video is right now. In other words it’s putting it above where I want it.

I know I can drag it down from either the browser or drag down from above, but is there any way to just press a button so it goes to the spot I want it to?

I could do this with FCP 7 with ease.

    Thanks
