    Thanks for the replies.

Unfortunately my client seems to have problems with QuickTime files..
The only format that has worked so far is AVI uncompressed. But the filesize is too big.
How would I create a compatible DV-NTSC file?

    Thanks

    Thanks guys, helpful stuff.

However the gamma adjustment doesn’t occur only in FCP, but also in QT. So does that mean that if I capture it via FCP there is some kind of gamma adjustment embedded in the file that will make it appear like that in both QT and FCP?

If I open the same clip in Shake the gamma will look right (sorry, can’t check right now, not at the office, but would still love to know!!).

Thanks again, great to know that I’m not doing something wrong in my capture..

Thanks for that, it makes sense.

However it is a real problem when I need to send a QT to a client for approval, after it has been captured by the Decklinck card.

What would be the solution to this?

    Thanks

Nope, but I do have a blackmagic card…Does it have the same functionality?

Also, since I need to create graphics panels in After Effects, I’m wondering what setting I should be using…
Might be a question for the AE forum..

    Thanks

You need to make sure the scrolling speed you used in After Effects is right for the amount of text you have. You can go to Aenhancers.co – it seems like I can’t post URL’s here, but in the expression library section you will find a piece of code that will help you

    Thanks
I was actually using DV NTSC as an example. My final output will be Digitbeta or BetaSp (not sure yet), so I will be creating a 8bit uncompressed timeline at the end of my project to export the baby.
So I’m glad FCP will do that…I tried a simple export using QuickTime from DVCPRO HD to DV NTSC Widescreen, and there was some very visible squeezing…

    Thanks
