just an fyi, if you have oodles of cash spilling out and you want THE fastest set up possible, and I do mean fastest, faster than fiber, faster than sas, go with the sata array here.

    https://www.nextlevelhardware.com/storage/battleship/

it will cost you an arm and a leg. but umm, i don’t think you’ll be running into any problems with speed. just space, and power consumption.

as much as I would like to agree…

It’s fine, you cna key it very well ASSUMING it was lit well. You can key any footage on almost any format, as long is it’s shot/lit well.

    I’ve keyed a good 100 hours of it…it’s fine

Yea I work with the codec a lot as well, it’s pretty light weight for an hd codec due to the 8bit nature.it is a little nasty thought when it comes to pixel aspect ratio and such

    priceless….?

But seriously, get a base line on price at filmtools.com thats about the mid-ground, on guaranteed quality it may be worth it. Don’t skimp now, good screen is CRUCIAL for time saving drag and drop preset keylight settings

i have to ask, does it look good in SD?

if it does, than you have your solution with out extra cost.

I know it’s a ‘half ass’ but it’s also a proper solution to a problem. Why pay a silly amount for a high end post house to do what you are looking for, or for some software when you are satisfied with teh result. Unless you plan to go HD broadcast, check it on an SD moniter

I want to do this SO badly in my rooms, but my roommates say NOOO we want our linen closet, to hell with that, I want an extra 3 cubic feet of room for my legs!!

but seriously Unless you have a ventilated box/cabinet you would be fine, my quad is VERY quiet. The loudest thing you can do is run a disk in it, or burn one.
