ARGH!
ANY sequence that’s 29.97 is causing this problem. Including DV25, DV50, uncompressed…. A 23.98 sequence works.
We need this effect to work. By tonight. I can’t believe I assumed it would work and look ok. But it doesn’t even look OK

Seems to happen to ANY 720×486 footage. No matter what compressor.
So now what? Has anybody ever dealt with this with uncomrpessed footage? It seems Apple, once again, has forgotten to deal with 486 footage correctly.

Are these blues/reds legal? I remember seeing problems like that with our original Kona card, and it was a product of illegal levels freaking the card out…
Have you switch to another TV monitor? make sure it’s not having some problems.

Is “mirror on computer monitor” in A/V settings on?
Might trash your prefs and reboot too.

So you’re inheriting a project? And it sounds like they have media scattered all over the damn place and they can’t find it all? ….the classic FCP blunder.
1) do you need a complete clone of the project?
2) how much media do you really have? we’ve had 2 feature films this year that fit snugly on a 1TB firewireMy 1st instinct is MM will make more of a mess than not. I’ve never used it on a long form project, like you, just things under 10 minutes. If there are any speed ramps or lots of imported graphics… seems like a disaster would probably ensue. But I may be wrong, especially with FCP 6. I’m just jaded.

You’ve got a mismatch: your sequence is supposed to be DV, yes? Not 8 bit uncompressed.
