the 9pin works, we tested it on an avid dx and it captured fine, we then connected it to the aja and did not get control…

i do not know how to set this deck to remote…it is a playerr and not a player recorder combo…but we have not switched to remote when we have captured with the avid…but that could be our problem…

i started with the easy setup…PAL 25 fps, apple pro res. i then when to the control settings for the external devices and adjusted the deck name to the Sony J-H3. we also tried other settings but were unsuccessful…

we are on FCP 6.0.4, i do not know waht other software you are refering to…i have donwloaded the new aja drivers and will try them now…

i have read in other threads on the cow thet such a problem occures when the aja is not connected in the network setting in system prefs…

on my machine the aja serial is unconnected in system prefs network… that is why i thought the problem could be there…

maybe that helps clear things up a bit…

thanks for the tip. unfortunately i still havnt gotten very far. i have pasted the expression you gave to me…

accum += length(position.valueAtTime(t), position.valueAtTime(t – thisComp.frameDuration);

into position and i received an error. i also pasted it into a text layer to test her out and i got an error. i took the position word from the expression, highlighted it and pickwipped the position of my layer and i still get an error. so my question is where do i paste this line in to get a proper result? thanks for the help…

i guess i can expand n my problem a little…i now need to convert 1 15 minute film with 7 different subtitled versions from 10bit uncompressed into both mpg 4 and WMV. i have read about episode and we have an old copy of cleaner that we have also tried…my question is what sofware would you, the profis, recommend for a little editing house…our problem is our clients are all over europe and we need to render out the formats so many times in up to 22 languanges…we are using 2,6 macpros but will purchase a new 8 core in the coming weeks. so i guess i am asking for recomendation on the software that will utilize our multi core machines…

would a new cleaner, a UB version, be faster than the old PPC version we tried?

im finally getting there, but i always seem to run into little things…i can capture, but cannot seem to get control of the deck from the FCP…are there any common errors i could be making? i would appreciate any help…

hello once again. i tried the uninstall and reinstall thing and i still didnt have any luck. i also checked to see if i had any drivers. the only thing i could think of was this keyspann thing i use to connect the USB remote thing with my mojo. could that interfere with the AJA? i ran the aja conflict detector and it came up empty…so im beginning to scratch my head a little…

hello, i was hoping to make a halftone effect also with after effects. i was interested in the card dance approach. and i was looking for a tip or two…i made a grid with a shape layer and i applied card dance to that grid. i then applied my image to the gradient layer 1 and used scale and intensity for both x and y…my problem is with the cleanliness of the effect…i cannot seem to make it look clean. my cards are splitting the halftone pattern. i think thats my problem. maybe you could give me a tip or two on how big your pattern was and how you split that up into rows and columns…i think that may help me out a little…thanks…

thanks a million is was that easy!… i have another couple of problems that maybe you could solve for me…

1. for whatever reason my text object doesnot appear in the render…i need to start the render on the frame the text appears for it to showup in the render…for example i i have a text that scales up from 0 to 100 starting on frame 10 and ending on frame 20…if i start the render(tiff sequence) on frame 1 the text object is not there. if i start on frame 10 it is there…

2. i wanted to render the project with objects motion blur and scene motion blur…i set a couple of motion blur tags on the objects that need the motion blur and in the render settings effects i set post effects for object motion blur and scene motion blur…i then set to render a tiff seq…and the computer shows to be doing the work but it doesnt create any images in the target file…when i turn off the post effects object and scene moton blur it renders the images…

any idea what im doing wrong…

ok to tell the truth i do no think we will need to playout in unkompressed hd, but my question is how big of a difference is the quality of uncompressed hd and the prores? we do work in musik videos but always down convert to uncompressed 10 SD…thanks a lot…
