How did you convert your file to an AVI? What application? What settings? How bad is the sync? A couple of frames or a couple of minutes?

Compatible as in import? If so, not really. I mean, you can import the files and edit them, but Premiere doesn’t like highly compressed files at all. It would be better off if you converted your WMV files to AVIs or you may run into some serious issues.

Encore doesn’t support GIMP for menu creation (to be more specific, the highlights). I would reccomend looking into Photoshop Elements at least. Download a free trial from Adobe’s website.

What is the model # of the JVC deck? Also, I am assuming that the JVC is a deck and not a camera.

.cda is a CD Audio file. Put the audio CD back into your CD-ROM drive and download an application called CD-Ex or AudioGrabber and then extract the audio as a WAV file.

What are your other settings in the project manager?

Encore DVD only supports full NTSC and PAL resolutions at the moment (720*480 and 720*576) and hence the error while supporting 1024*576
But, out of curiosity, why are you using this resolution anyway?
