I have canon camcorder and had it conneted to my PC using Firewire cable. Also, i ran premiere pro 1.5 and tried to capture image from camera without recording on a tape. In theory, it could be done as i want, but it failed. The reason that i was going to do like this is i want to save time. premiere pro only captures images on a tape? i miss some settings? or i have to buy something else?

[boynton] “tried to capture image from camera without recording on a tape.”

Could you explain this a little more? Not sure what you mean.

I guess he means live capture. Easy to do with Matrox RTX.

    try these

    https://www.moogear.com/DV%20Capture%201.0.htm

    trail/$25

    serious magic dv rack
    trail/149

moogear is simple and works great. rack works great with many mmore options

firewire straight from cam to pc firewire port and your done. hit record and watch it happen. I use a pd150, so I put a tape in so that the no tape in cam message disappears. then rewind the tape and shoot again over since the movie is now on the hard drive
