When trying to install Pro 2.0 I get this error message: “Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library”; Program :D:\Adobe Premiere Pro\setup.exe ; This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application’s support team for more information.”

I’m trying to install on new Dell 9100 w/Pentium D w/ 1 gig RAM. I’ve tried 3 CD/DVD ROMs that are connected to the machine. I’ve never had any trouble installing any other software on this machine, which runs great; The CD will install the program on my Toshiba notebook with no problem.

    Any Ideas? Thank you.

Please contact Adobe tech support. The offer free installation help.

  • Just a quick thought. Could it be that you are pointing the installation to some other directory than one of your system hard drives? Like maybe to another CD or DVD drive? That would be my best guess.

Thanks for the tech support idea (duh to me). There is a long list of things to try when faced with an installation problem. I tried the most simple and obvious, shutting off all automatically starting programs in msconfig. Premiere installed quick as butter sliding around a hot skillet. Everything appears to work fine. Yeah!
