Looks like you are working with Premiere Pro 1.x and the black still issue is a known problem. Try importing lower-resolution files and the problem should dissapear.

If you just want to capture and create DVDs, take a look at ScLive for capturing purposes and a simple program such as TMPGEnc for DVD authoring purposes. For a price of $100 you can get both and be up and running.

It is a limitation of your harddrive. Changing the drive format to NTFS will over-ride the 4GB limit.

This I would disagree with. I have experimented with over 20 different media types and Riadata seems to be on the lower end of the pile. I would strongly suggest Taiyo Yuden. It doesn’t get any better than that.

What media are you using? These problems are usually caused by inferior media.

Are your drives formatted as NTFS or FAT32?
Project settings?
Export settings? (in detail please)
Have you applied the encoder updates from Adobe’s site? -
It is not an issue with the software, since I don’t experience these problems. A couple of things:
1) What device is used to capture the footage? Can you try an alternative device?
2) What device is used to shoot the footage? Can you try a different camera?A
