I am not 100% sure, but take a look at Magic Duck.

Sounds like you are getting these files from a TV Tuner. Is that correct?

Since Premiere Pro 1.x and 2.x were developed for the PC only, the Quicktime MOV files will not play as well as the AVI files.
Could you tell us more about the MOV file and how it was acquired?

It really depends on what you are planning on doing with the system. Premiere Pro CS3 with the suite is a very, very powerful software combo. I have used Final Cut and there are certain things that I like and certain things that I don’t.
But, if you could be more specific as to the reason why you want to switch, we would be able to assist you better.

1. What is the input source?
2. How long is the video that is going on the DVD?
3. Do you know the compression settings used by DVD Architect?
4. Have you tried another DVD program, such as Encore (which ships free with Premiere Pro CS3)?– Aanarav

[Trixter] “If they removed the DVD authoring tool (Encore) then how do you author DVDs in CS3?”
No, they did not remove the DVD authoring tool. They just removed the in-built DVD authoring feature. However, Encore CS3 is included for free with PPRO CS3.

Could you try exporting smaller segments to see if that problem still exists? Also, does the black frame always occur at the same spot?

Most of the 2.0 content is still valid in Premiere Pro CS3. Adobe usually doesn’t remove features, but in this case they have removed the DVD authoring tool from CS3. Other than that and a few effects removals, I think that everything from 2.0 will carry over to CS3.
