How big is your project? Do you have a lot of raw footage? Any filters?

What are the specs of your computer? And yes, PPRO does have exceptionally long export times for DVD encoding. If you have Encore, I would use that.

If you update the graphics outside of PPRO and save them with the same filenames, PPRO should update the files automatically.

Slow motion: Right click on the clip > Speed/Duration > any # under 100%
Dissolve: Drag and drop the transition between the clips.I would strongly reccomend taking a look at the manual or viewing the tutorials at https://www.wrigleyvideo.com/videotutorial.

If you did not save it, your best bet would be to use one of the auto saved projects in the Premiere Pro Auto Save folder.

Kind of interesting that you post this. A similar thing happened at work today. Killed 2 FCP workstations.

Take a look in the bin window and double click on the sequence you were working on. That should bring back your timeline.

Looks like something is wrong with your PPRO installation. I have never seen the problems you have mentioned above. Try reinstalling PPRO and see if it helps. -
For DVDs I use the Epson R200. Does a great job, for a decent price.
For VHS tapes, I bought Avery VHS spine labels and print them out in MS Word.
