Premiere Pro only supports capture via OHCI compliant firewire cards or other supported realtime cards such as Canopus.

Do you have any way of previewing what is coming out from the DSR11? I have dumped over 2 hours of footage on DVCAM and have not faced a problem so far.

Unfortunately, CMC discs are on the lower end of the scale. You can purchase Taiyo Yuden from Rima.com or from SupermediaStore.com. That being said, if you still want to purchase Maxells, make sure that they are Made in Japan. MIJ Maxells are 99.9% of the time TY discs.Aanarav Sareen

Premiere Pro can only capture using standard firewire ports or supported RT cards.

How are you coming to that conclusion? As you probably know, setting up an editing station is not the cheapest thing on earth. You really think people are willing to shell out 3000 + dollars, just because a product is not released for 18 months or so? I don’t think so. I have worked on plenty of NLEs and by far I have found PPRO is the “fastest” editor. Not as cumbersome as Avid and not as expensive as FCP (including the costs and such of a new MAC)

The products that you have mentioned are on the consumer level of Adobe’s spectrum. Premiere Pro requires a lot more programming a much stricter integration, hence the slow release cycle. But, I am curious to know what you are looking for in an upgraded product?

Would you happen to know the size of the screen? Because, if the screen is extra-ordinarily large and if you are shooting SD video, then it will definitely look bad. Also, the editing software has no control over the quality of the image while projected.
