Why do you want to have both DV and HDV versons of your footage at the same time? Sending your HDV footage through compressor every time you get new footage seems like a big extra step, especialy with a project that will have 300 hours of video. Using up twice the amount of hard drive space keeping a DV version of your HDV footage when you are going to have so much footage just dosnt make sence to me.

it is posible that the 3rd party ram is causing the problem you could try taking it out and see if the issue persists.

you might just want to take it into the apple store though

What exactly do you mean “crashed”

What exactily is it doing or not doing.

Cant even guess as to what is causing it (Software or Hardware) untell you tell us what it exactily happins when it “crashed”

Sounds like you are editing off of your main Hard Drive, that is never a good idea. Because the drive is already having to work to run the OS and any programs yoou have open video play back can suffer (dropped frames etc).

Always edit from a second Hard Drive

Lacie drives are great the only one I have seen fail is one that was knocked off of a desk.

That is why I alway recomend that you start fresh when you move to a new version of the OS.
