if it is happening in multiple programs sound like ether something is corrupted with your user account or with the OS itself. If trashing preffs doesn’t help then try creating another user account, it the issue is gone then it is something with your user account, in which case migrate your data to the new account. If the issue persists then it is something with the OS, try an archive and in stall at that point.

I have not noticed any quality difference between Native HDV and AIC, DVC Pro HD is of course a much better option but if you do not have a capture card, then ether Native HDV or AIC will work.

I would also propose to the boss that budget plans be made so that computers and software do not become as outdated as they have currently become.

Most places budget in software upgrades and money to replace computers every couple of years.

The truth is NOBODY can say for sure, because it isn’t out yet Apple may have changed something, it may want the old SN it may ask to have the old disc inserted for a moment, it may just look for a already installed copy of the old version, it may even not ask or look for anything,

Until it is actually available it is all speculation, because it could have easily been changed since the last upgrade.

Actually I think that it will just asks for the old SN and possibly the old disc when you go to install. I know people who have already pre-ordered and it did not ask for the SN at the time of the order.
