[Patrick Morrow] “Scanmaker 5700 unusable with Leopard. Please help!!! “

What do you mean by “unstable”?

I am betting you need updated scanner drivers or software that are compatible with Leopard.

Go to the scanner manufacturers website and see if there are any updates.

    [jharmon] “Since upgrade”

Upgrade to what? Did you upgrade to Leopard, upgrade to 10.4.11, upgrade Final Cut, upgrade WHAT?

[jharmon] “Epson R340 CD/DVD printer drivers not recognized”

Do you mean it will not let you add the printer to the computer, or douse it just not let you print CD/DVD like it used to.

There are problems with epson CD/DVD print software and latter updates to 10.4 and also 10.5 But that is Epson’s problem you wont come put with updates to the software.

November 27, 2007 at 5:02 am in reply to: where and which system logs?

You can view the logs from the console, but I seriously doubt you will make much sense of what they say. I know experienced technicians that cant make out exactly what they mean.

I don’t see how it could be the video card, or its software like you think, because you say the problem happens when you are moving data from one drive to another.

It ether has to be the file itself or the drive you are copying it to.

Another option that you can do is capture as native HDV and then change your render settings to ProRes. This way anything that you render is done in ProRes instead of in HDV.

November 26, 2007 at 5:11 pm in reply to: Unpartitioning Harddrives

I had asked you a question in my first reply so that I could help you with your problem, until I know the answer I cant do much to help you.

Is it the itunes library or just the music files on the other drive?

The Application should be on the drive with the OS but you can place the iTunes library on any drive you choose and then just tell iTunes where to look for that library.

And what is the point of having the drive partitioned and keeping your iTunes music on a separate partition from the OS? Why you did this doesn’t really make sense to me.

November 26, 2007 at 7:47 am in reply to: Unpartitioning Harddrives

[homeboymast] “I partitioned my hard drive and then realized afterwards that I don’t have the space I thought I did to have two hard drives. Anyway I can revert back to one Hard drive without uninstalling and re-installing OSX? “

No in order to remove a partition you must reformat the drive, thus erasing anything on all partitions.

[homeboymast] “I have all of my music on the second hard drive, but since I can’t run iTunes on the second hard drive without OSX I can’t keep my music over there while using iTunes on the 1st Hard drive. It keeps trying to move all of my files to the first HD in which I don’t have the ample space since I partitioned my drives. “

Is it the itunes library or just the music files on the other drive? And by other drive do you mean second partition.

You can have your iTunes library on a completely separate drive. Every body I know with a large iTunes library douse this.

[paul Provost] “leopard not ready for prime time.
    sure regret installing it. “

Totally NOT true. It sounds like you didn’t do what has been recommended on the cow MANY times. Back up and start fresh (thats right erase and install)

That is what I did and I have experienced no problems at all.

You also NEVER mentioned that you had just upgraded to Leopard. If you would have said that response would have been different.

As with ANY new OS, Mac, Windows whatever you choose. It is ALWAYS better to start fresh with a new OS.

I am betting that there were some underlying problems with your keychain before you upgraded to the now OS. The upgrade just brought them to the surface. Any big upgrade to the OS can do that to a small program that you never knew you had.

Did you delete from with in the Keychain Access application or did you delete the file that Keychain Access stores things in?

[Scott Wright] “Anyone out there know what causes this? “

You upgraded to leopard didn’t you. It is a extremely rare side effect, but it can happen.
