April 6, 2011 at 5:39 amBut somehow the timing isn’t right for FCS upgrade pre-orders since the “sneak peek” isn’t until next week.
Maybe it’s something else like an iPad 2 price increase due to parts increases or an iMac update that the rumor sites never heard about.

“I can’t make it this year either, but there’s no doubt you will get all the press you can handle and more about the “special presentation”.

If we both shoot with our iPhones, can we upload the show in 3D?

April 6, 2011 at 1:56 pm[Jason Brown] “And when Walter starts spreading “talk” I know it’s rooted in fact…you guys are all such great industry leaders (shane, david, walter, etc). Hope to get a chance to meet u guys out there.”
I avoid rumors at all cost because there’s just no sense in getting involved with them since it’s a fruitless excersize. This came to me from so many sources it was obvious it was not a rumor from the get-go. The only question was how quickly the announcement would be made official.
Of course I do think it’s silly that they still list a “special guest” on the website with a “special presentation.” But as long as the raffle is still a go (which shocks me quite honestly with all the sponsors getting booted) it’s all good by me.

“Absolutely. You will then be able to edit it in the cloud with iMovie Pro for a truly live demo experience.
You can gang all the iDevices in the room together (have to buy the app first) for a shared storage network and get blazing fast SDD storage via wifi/Bluetooth and share the bandwidth load across the room.
Sorry for my cynicism.

why wait for iMovie Pro when we can just do it on our iPads in the room?
Studio Daily just did a great blog on the heavy handed tactics from Apple on this one. Truly feel bad for Mike, Dan and the entire group that puts on these amazing events. Apple really put them in a bad position.

Now we wait to see what kind of history will be written next Tuesday. Apple presents the best NLE we’ve ever seen with the most flawless and entertaining demonstration ever.
Or Apple goes down with one of the most epic fails in the history of NAB.
Avid is certainly riding the PR gravy train right now and I’m sure this entire episode will make the Kevin Smith presentation all the more entertaining. I don’t think he’ll be shy about bringing Apple into the discussion…..

If the audience ALL shoots with the iphone, we can make this an event that people can emerse themselves into.
There’s a LOT of pressure on Apple now. If they pull this coup, and fail to WOW and deliver a quality upgrade… it’ll cost them.
