April 6, 2011 at 1:15 amPer Dan Berube via one of the vendors, there are no changes to the vendor tables at the SuperMeet. Also the Raffle is still on the website. The venue is still the same.
But I agree, the new “special presentation” is now all of us paying for an Apple Marketing event. The original lineup was much better. apple should have just closed out the event with the sneak peek.

April 6, 2011 at 1:44 amAvid has a great response to getting booted from the Supermeet. They plan to give Kevin Smith a venue if we will come. I say get a stage for ALL the original presenters.

April 6, 2011 at 2:04 amIf you read the ProVideoCoalition site and read between the lines . . . .
It may well be that AJA and Blackmagic are giving “no comment” because they’re not really gone from the stage.
They may be invited on stage to show how certain products will integrate with the new FCS that they couldn’t obviously do otherwise. Maybe introducing specific FCS4 Thunderbolt integration for example.
Note for example Bloom’s comment about “guest of Apple” speculation. For all we know they’ll be showing a method of import and direct codec support from Canon DSLRs.
It may be that only or primarily Avid was given the boot and others may take on different rolls under the control of Apple (as they’ll determine the extent of their FCS4 compatibility presentations).

That’s how it works normally, so I’d say you’re probably pretty close Craig.

April 6, 2011 at 2:32 amCanon did say they are not giving a presentation now, so we will have to wait to see if they come back.
I am hearing that the live video stream is very unlikely now.

April 6, 2011 at 3:27 amAfter reading this thread I jumped to reserve my tickets. There were 40 left and the number was dropping by the minute. 10 mins ago they were SOLD OUT. Now there are 5 available… weird. Seems somehow seats are being added a few at a time.
