No it’s not THE problem its A problem. I’m not an MB user running this new premiere update on windows, i’m on Mac and having the same freeze-crash issues as the others on this thread.

I’d have thought Adobe would be all over this issue but it’s been weeks and weeks, and still nothing.

I don’t run MBL and am still in constant freezes, crashes, and re-recovering files. It’s been an absolute disaster.

Has anyone any news about this?? This is utterly ridiculous and extremely frustrating – the crashes, freezes and canvas going blank happens so frequently I may as well just cut off my own head.

Adobe what are you doing about this????

By chance are you using the warp stabilizer effect at all? I can get it to happen a lot using that effect.

Nope. Just editing. It gets worse and more frequent if I’m importing alphas, but it’s still pretty constant with straight video.

I have been trying to figure out what triggers it on my system. I have had to revert to PPRO CC (2013) to get any work done. I won’t use 2014 until an update….

all i’m doing is basic editing, scrubbing, cutting, all very normal procedural stuff, i’m not trying to have Premiere re-invent the wheel or anything

so basically it’s impossible to just do a days edit because it’s freezing, crashing, constantly.

    thanks Adobe 🙂

    James,

Try turning off any kind of thumbnails on the clips that are on the timeline (if you have them on). I just discovered that if PPRO has to draw thumbnails when I open a particular project the canvas will show black and hang the program. Turning the thumbnails off or reducing the track size has removed the problem. Let me know if that helps.

Thanks Kevin I’ll try that as of know and let you know how it goes . .

So you’ve been having these update issues as well?

Yes, but mine has been just related to opening the project. However, it might effect your project if you have a lot of thumbnails on clips that need to be redrawn as you change track sizes and navigate the timeline…
