Frank, Its not entirely Vegas’s fault on that one, Newblue Titler
also needs to sort out their house.

Just curious. Have there been any significant updates on the 3rd party Newblue Titler? Given I wasn’t hugely impressed with the Newblue effects package that came with Vegas 10 (or was it 9?) it’s not something I’ve invested a lot of time in following, at least while on my current year of severely limited time and budget.

I’ve been (batch) rendering for 16 hours straight. Color correction, noise reduction, levels, and sharpen. No problems so far across multiple files. (But then, I didn’t have problems before.)

I just downloaded the update and tried the same steps you listed. I could not get it to crash. I tried the eyedropper on the video preview window and also within the Media Generator window. I would suspect a video driver problem if it is related to the eyedropper. I’m running 301.24 of the NVidia drivers for the GTX 570. I’m just providing this information so it may help troubleshoot the problem if we know what works.

Thanks Mark for this. I had updated the driver for my Nvidia GTX550Ti card (although I did have problems with the update previously) and hoped I had overcome the crashes. Nope.
Think it might be something to do with the GPU affects as others don’t seem to crash whilst the three GPU effects with Vegas (solid colour/checkerboard/noise Texture) all do. Have turned off GPU to no effect.
    Ah well, there’s generally a work-around!
    Thanks again though.

The current version/build of Titler Pro for Vegas Pro 11 is version 1.0 build 120402 and can be found here:

You do need the serial number provided to you by Sony during installation.

I seem to be a pariah around here since I can’t get on the “It’s Buggy” wagon train, I only have good to report about the latest release. No crashes, NBT works, Genarts Sapphire Edge works, BCC8 works.

    Stephen,

Maybe we should get together and compare notes… I don’t get any crashes either, and I feel like the guy who ruined the party.

I do not base Sony Vegas’s High points or shortcomings entirely
on my personal experience using it. Most of the complaints i get
and hear about, i have never experienced them, but that doesnt
mean they are not there….That doesnt mean if i dont see a bug,
there is no bug….That doesnt mean most users who are having
    issues are doing something wrong.
If numerous users complain about a particular problem, there is a
    problem
, even if i dont experience it, i approach it as such.

    Steve,

I agree with you. I just don’t know why I’ve been spared all the problems.

I’m glad my software doesn’t crash. But every time I alter my workflow, with a new camera or plugin, I wonder if I’m opening a set of problems I’ve only had to read about.
