[Jeremy Bird] ” at least not enough to justify another massive payment to Apple for another FCP disc.”

$1,299 is not a massive payment by any means. If you cannot afford enough copies to run all your workstations, you should not be using the software on all of them.

[Jeremy Bird] “And like I said, I just work here.”

Same as said by the watergate plumbers, Nazi solders at Nuremberg and Slobodan Milosovich

You can do your job honestly or stay off this forum, its pretty obvious that what you are trying to attempt is illegal but please go ahead and make your case – they have everything they need to find you.

Especially since you are still telling everyone here that it is OK for you to violate US and International Copyright Statues- the exact same laws that protect your work from piracy

(ie: the unauthorized use or reproduction of another’s work : software piracy)

So be a hero and turn your boss in…

If you suspect that a coworker, colleague or even an ex-employer is using or selling unlicensed software — use the hotline number to call the Business Software Alliance in your area or report online. Reporting takes only a moment, and your information will be kept strictly confidential — you can even file a report anonymously.

[Jeremy Bird] “d think there’d be a more appropriate forum for that… “

There is. You found it and we gave you our opinions for an amount of money that is infinitely smaller than you would have paid a qualified attorney to render the same opinion.

[Jeremy Bird] “And like I said, I just work here.”

If it were only that simple.

Is your company large enough to have a legal department or an IT department or some consultant? If so, or if you have a qualified human being on retainer, ask that individual to purchase and install this software for you.

It’s not a moral issue in the slightest, it’s a black and white issue with not gray areas. And, buddy, you do not want to have your name on a single document associated with your company’s decision to install and run Little Snitch on a system owned by a company that is in the entertainment business.

Walter! I bought your Color tutorial and I’m about half way through. It’s great!

With all due respect I thought this was a technical forum. And if you read my previous post I state clearly that I am NOT the boss, meaning I am not the person making the purchases here. Just looking for some technical advice. That’s all.

    Best,
    JB

Let me make this clear and then we can consider this case closed.

I have not installed and will not install Little Snitch on any machines whatsoever. I have not and do not use pirated software, and I do not intend to.

That’s it. Got it everybody? Call off the witch hunt.

    Thanks for the advice.

    Best,
    JB

[Jeremy Bird] ” Just looking for some technical advice. That’s all. “

And you won’t get it, when you are doing something illegal. Either tell your boss that you need more FCP licenses, or find your answer not on this forum. Because no matter that it is a technical answer, the answer would be aiding in your companies continued illegal activities.

I also suggest not asking this at Apple or other FCP forums. You will get similar responses.

[Jeremy Bird] “I have not and do not use pirated software, and I do not intend to. “

But you said, rather openly, that you have and you do…

Or are you trying to press the “reset” button?

The reset button has been pressed. Good points made all around so worth keeping the thread up….but nothing needs to be added. Thanks to everyone for participating.

You are truly stupid! Placing the blame on someone else is not an excuse. I hope the company you work for is prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

You just snitched on yourself and your employer.

To answer your question, I have never used Little Snitch. There is absolutely nothing good to say about the program.

Go start looking for another employer because the company you work for is now WANTED.
