is it a bug??
Posted by Itamar Kool on August 11, 2008 at 2:42 pmI posted this question before. This is what happened: I used two video layers. The clips on the upper layer were distorded and cropped.
Playing them out real time was no problem. But as soon as I rendered them or tried to export the timeline, the upper layer just disappeared. Tried everything, including trashing the prefs.Kool En De Anderen

August 11, 2008 at 3:34 pmHi Itamar,
Sorry but just today I tried to reproduce your issue. But no way. In my system no problem.
The only I can think about is some kind of project corruption after you have changed the layers Modes.
Some time had happens to me set a title on top of the picture and the title disappear on rendering. But, sorry, I can not remember now the reason of that and how I fixed it.

August 11, 2008 at 11:02 pmTry eliminating one problem at a time. Remove the distort, then rerender.
Do you have any filters on the footage that are set to preview mode instead of ‘final’ or something?

August 12, 2008 at 9:35 amDid it, turns out that it is the cropping that makes the clip disappear. Now what does that mean???

That means one of two things, Mr. Kool:
1) You’re totally hosed. You need to shut down your machine, quit and go home early. Take the rest of the day off, you deserve it.
2) Try doing this in another program such as Motion or AE.
okay 3) Something is funny with your footage or project. Try making a new project.

August 12, 2008 at 3:06 pmI already did it in AE, so the problem is not so big anymore. It’s just that I cannot stand not being able to solve it! The problem was there a couple of days ago and it still is!! I amI also did the same trick with an old project (same settings). Guess what??? Same thing happened!! I can even live with it if it just goes away, but it still is there. I am going to try to find out what it is. I think it is something really stupid and simple.

August 12, 2008 at 3:16 pmWell mr Garchow, eat this!! Tried it with a PAL project, old one; same thing!! Distorting is OK when rendered. Cropping disappears when rendered….

August 12, 2008 at 3:45 pmWeird.
Something like that wouldn’t let go to bed, even if Jeremy wisely recommends go to sleep earlier:-)
Have you tried to open the project in other system/
