    24p Normal
When shooting in 24p Normal, the camera is adding normal standard 3:2 pulldown to the video, which results in 24p footage designed to work with any non-linear editing suite and it will play back and look good directly to any NTSC monitor. You can use 24p Normal footage just like normal video from any DV camera, and everything will work fine, but obviously, the footage will have a film look to it. If you

He was trying use humor to tell you that your question needed more detail. The more information you give, the better the answer you will receive.

There are various cameras that use different versions of 24p.

but there’s a big difference between humor and sacrasm/smarm. It matters not, Shane answered the question thoroughly.

you asked such a generic question what would you really expect. If shane was not rendering all the time he would not of answered in the manner he did. All of dave’s questions were valid, especially since there is nothing in your bio here that offers any idea to how or what your equipment or abilities are.

asking generic questions gets you generic answers….

Actually, I was listening to temp music to see what fit the scene best, but it does seem like I render a lot, doesn’t it? I am capturing a lot lately, new project and all.

Plus, my answer was a STOCK answer, so a simple cut an paste.

But yes, the question was VERY generic and I took a shot in the dark. There are DV cameras that shoot 24p, and HDV, and DVCPRO HD, and high end HD…so…

It’ amazing how people come here and EXPECTS all the other professionals in the world to give them a 3 page details answer to their questions. And often times, they are not regular contributors here.

    Here’s one…

I need to composite a gorilla on my 1945 VW. I have Final Cut Pro and Motion and a rubberband. Please give as much detail as possible.

    And not even a Thanks!

It’s time to make this a paid forum. Even something as little as $30/yr will weed out a lot of leechers and immature/rude filmmakers.

    Lol!

BTW original poster – way to ensure you never get another question answered. If you wanted to cut out the time spent answering vague questions for people like this, just ignore anyone who fails to fill out ANY detail (particularly system) on his profile. Bad form if you ask me.

boys boys boys, calm yourselves, man testosterone is a bad thing!!

what you all really need to do is move to Europe and shoot 25p, it’s easy as pie, think about it, no more shooting/crossencoding/pulling/yanking/downconvert/upconvert/re-res/split-concat at 24.98723 fps, or whatever it is.

by the way, bad tv shows are still bad tv shows even if you shoot them in HD, you can just see how bad they are much more clearly is all.
