Discusses the “security flaws” in QuickTime that 7.4 patches. Probably gives good insight into why you get the error messages; I’m on programmer but this was interesting. Glad there’s a fix floating around out there to “downgrade” to a workable config.

Does anyone know if when you do this method you no longer have Quicktime Pro? Or is Quicktime Pro reloaded back on too?

    Just curious.

QTPro is staying activated, so don’t worry. 🙂

Has this been happening strictly on Macs? Have the same issues affected the PC versions?

I personally don’t know about anyone using a PC having this problem…

    Cool.
Nice one Mac-ninjas! Thanks to all those who found out what-the-funk-to-do! I hope Apple will answer to this, and provide an update. I have only had this happen once before, with Compressor and they did fix it, eventually.
Hopefully with so many people suffering from the problem they will respond. Especially when it puts Apple’s precious Pro-Media Application rep in question.

Stay frosty people, and don’t upgrade.

We should all contact both Apple and Adobe about this.

Pacifist worked great for me, I will be paying my 20.

I’m getting this error as well, and i know i’ve upgraded to 7.4, but when i right click on a .mov, i get to choose which QT to open with Quitime Player or QT (7.3.1), so 7.3.1. still in my machine, can i just uninstall 7.4?

if so, how is this done?

    Thanks.
