I don’t think you understand. The ProRes codec is NOT part of QuickTime you have it on your computer because you installed FCS. A Mac with Snow Leopard but not FCS cannot even play a ProRes video file. Check out the link that was previusly posted.

Sounds more like the drive is beginning to fail. Lots of clicking noises are NEVER a good sound to hear from a hard drive.
You never did tell us what type of drives you are using. How are they connected to the computer? How full are the drives are are editing from? Are they single drives or is it a raid?
Most multiclip problems come from not uses fast enough hard drive or slow hard drive connections.

Never used Camtasia but seeing as it is a screen recording software, I believe that Apples answer to that is the screen recording abilities in the new QuickTime X.
I’m sure that the presentation was most likely made in Keynote, and then the presentation graphics were later cut together with the live footage of the event again most likely using FCS.

Its not apps responsibility or job to make drivers for 3rd party devices, so it sounds like they are just making excuses so they don’t look bad.

You need to use the disks that came with the machine, as they are machine specific. Im betting you are attempting to use disks that came with a different machine.

If that PC can play a DVD then yes. “PC” is a VARY broad term, your going to want to know what that “PC” has and is capable of.

Im guessing that you did not do a clean erase and install of everything and just ran Snow Leopard as an upgrade. Pro apps like those in the Final Cut Studio Package can have issues if a new OS is installed as an upgrade instead of as a clean erase and install of everything.

Any sata drive will do. I’m a fan of Western Digital mostly because of there great warranty.

Why not if you raid the 3 other drives together and your editing performance will increase dramatically.
