okay, so here’s where the real problem lies. “the other person” that I was referring to is actually “another company” that we’re working together with and many of the projects contain the same media file in them.
the projcets that we’re working on are actually little bits of “scenes” from a long movie and many of those scenes use sound effects that aren’t finalized yet AND we have couple of hundread of scenes using the same sound effect that needs to be updated every now and then. so we really want to keep those media files in one place just to make sure we don’t forget to copy them into all the folders.
I’m new to all the scripting on vegas(started learning hours ago) but this seems like a good way to solve the problem, no?

the reason I need to downgrade the software is because our client uses version 9, but we’re still on 8. and we also need to have the
projects editable after we recieve them.but, hey, thanx anyways 🙂

how about posting your work along with all the data needed so other ppl can check it out on their systems? I sure would like to give it a try 🙂
Just make sure you post a Vegas project that definitely fails on your system.
