Render Crash in Vegas Pro 8 & 9
Hello,
Ok, so I’ve been having this problem now, both in Vegas 8 and Vegas 9 – Render crashing. I’ve sent countless emails to Sony about the issue in Vegas 8 Pro and I was hoping that with this knowledge they’d fix it in V9P – they haven’t. Well, what’s the problem? The problem is that whenever I render a HD project (be it 720p or 1080p)over 1 minute 30 seconds (ish) I get various errors. In V8, it wasn’t even nice enough to give me a reason, it would just crash out, but V9 is at least letting me know the state of things.Well sort of. Now when the render fails it simply says, it’s for ‘an unknown reason’ or that I’m out of memory. The latter being absolute bullsh*t, I have 8Gb and when it crashes I’m not even using up 5Gb, both on x64 and x86 systems. I’ve tried a million different settings in attempt to get this to work : Changing number of threads, changing preview ram, closing monitor window etc… None have worked. This then led me to believe it was something to do with my computer, so, in attempt to prove that I tried it on my three other computers, guess what? Still didn’t work. The only ‘semi-fix’ I’ve found, is to render in smaller segments and reseed, but even that doesn’t always work. I’m just at dead end with it and although it’s very powerful editor, I fear that this one thing will force me away from it and onto something like avid.
It is also worth mentioning, that I use Magic Bullet a lot and have also been incontact with Red Giant about the problem, but they give the standard company line, ‘we are unable to replicate this problem ourselves’ That’s funny, I’ve replicated it on 3 computers and counting, without fail!So with no help coming from official channels, can anyone here offer any help? Thanks.
