  • Hi Peter, I ever got the same problem, what I did is reformat the Windows downgrade to SP2… it crashed when I install Windows XP SP3. Try to use SP2 don’t upgrade it to SP3 may be there is conflict with the hardware either.
Last time I changed also my motherboard. and downgrade to SP2, and it works properly.

But the problem doesn’t appear with my brother laptop, he upgraded to SP3 then it has no problem with the Premiere Pro CS3. just try to downgrade first to SP2.

Windows XP SP3 is not stabile yet..

There are many possibilities, but do you ever edit using Adobe PPro? in 16×9 format? if yes,
there could be some problem on your Hardware… may be at your harddrive or graphic card. but i dont really sure, coz there are so many things… please state clearly…

Thanks for your response James, but I still have the problem, what I’ve got here is while placing the clips to the timeline, it has delay the video and the audio is not match, so I need to move the audio 3 sec and 14 frames ahead so then the audio will be sync…. any solution?

What i would do is use Final Cut Pro. But there is another way, if you have quicktime pro, can you try to:

    1. Open the files using quicktime [u said it works properly]
    2. then try to re-EXPORT the files to .avi and check the export setting to .avi [uncompressed] and the audio files to .wav or if it combined then it’s good. then wait till the exporting process completed.
    3. Try to import the new re-exported .avi files to Premiere bin.

I ever got the same but i just tried that way and it works… i dont know with you, just try…

    hey Paul,

I ever have the same problem, but I have another way to get better result of progressive rendering, usually i tried to export .avi progressive, uncompress,it is good. then just in case if you like to export it to DVD or m2v files, better render it on after effect,it has better quality even u have only 1 pass.

I think the rendering process of CS3 is not really good, i got problem by trying to export .m2v files using 2-pass progressive, but the result just interlaced. and if you use CS3 without any render-card. the best slow-mo percentage is around 60% lower could be a problem.

    does it helps?
