I’m having issues with a Premiere Pro project using DVC Pro footage. All of the footage files contain audio, but with certain files, the audio does not play back in Premiere. The audio plays back fine in Quicktime and After Effects. Premiere is also hanging up as I scrub through these files, and eventually has to be restarted.

I’ve running Premiere Pro CS3 on a Mac Pro 8 core, OS 10.5.5, 18 GB RAM. The footage is on a 4 disk RAID 0 array, attached to a Sonnet SATA card. I’m previewing using a Blackmagic Intensity Pro card. All associated drivers have been updated, and the problem persists. I”m having to do the edit in After effects for now which of course is not ideal.

My apologies if this has been covered already or is a widely known issue; I don’t use Premiere Pro very much. 😉

What i would do is use Final Cut Pro. But there is another way, if you have quicktime pro, can you try to:

    1. Open the files using quicktime [u said it works properly]
    2. then try to re-EXPORT the files to .avi and check the export setting to .avi [uncompressed] and the audio files to .wav or if it combined then it’s good. then wait till the exporting process completed.
    3. Try to import the new re-exported .avi files to Premiere bin.

I ever got the same but i just tried that way and it works… i dont know with you, just try…
