  • Did you install the latest QT codec? Or you can have a try to start a new project to import your MOV videos into Premiere. I met this problem before, after upgrading my QT to latest version, my mov videos can be opended in Premiere without problem. If you still encounter problem, you are advised to change MOV to MPEG-2 since the most compatible video format for Premiere is MPEG-2.

One possible reason is that you did not copy the entire card folder from your camcorder. FCP requires videos metadata while ingesting. If you only have video files, then you will encounter some problem when importing MTS videos into FCP directly. Pls remember to go to “Import from Camera > Open Archive” rather than going straight to “Import”. If you still meet issues, you’d better find a tool to help you as a lot of persons mentioned in this thread.

Have a try to set the Canon MTS framerate manually for Premiere via an effective tool. But pls make sure that you have not changed the keyframe after adjusting in that it will make your video unreadable or blurry.
