One problem is there is no way I know of to pick and choose which audio channels you want to use to convert

I have used Pavtube MXF converter, which is very in-expensive. It has limited output options but will convert to Quicktime using the H-264 codec at HD quality while combining the audio and video. It will also convert to Avid DNXHD which I don’t need but you may.

To answer my own question I had a DSR-11 and with MC 8.3 on a Mac it is working
great so far. It is requesting the correct tape and adding video and audio frame accurartely.

Problem fixed. unpluged component cables, keyspan , audio everything plug them back into the exact same ports, gave DAC 15 a kick and voila.

Definitely the problem is getting video/audio through firewire but can’t find why. Where can I check any firewire drivers?

Thanks your info is much appreciated. I have a Matrox Mini Pci card in place just for HD viewing so maybe an upgrades in order. I normally use Squeeze but have Media Encoder, Encore and Toast so I can switch for this project.

Thanks for input. It seems that if you do this, on same shoot, not a problem in Avid but may be problem if I try to use these folders in FCP.

The Firestore will not provide last clip info, only the cards do this. Also if the shooter did not use the “organize P2” utility, it will cause these type problems when backed up to HD.
