Just run your line out into the line in of your sound card … You will have to build a cable to go from the mixer to a mini phone … Might I suggest looking into a tube mic pre … Presonus makes a very affordable one that is well worth the money … https://www.presonus.com/products/Detail.aspx?ProductId=16

Recording directly into your computer using this type of mic is really not the way to go and is most likely your problem … The mic is for podcast not recording vocals for music … Also, you really need a large diaphram mic for recording vocals then I would have that plugged into a tube mic pre from there a compressor limitor which is a must for vocals, then into your computer

Sounds like you have a ground loop and or an EMI problem … Make sure your audio cables and your power cables are as far apart from each other as possible, check that everything is grounded as well, also plug everything into the same power strip … The hum is easy to take out without messing with the quality once you have recorded using the noise reductuion tool … Remember to highlight just the noise, capture and set as an fft before you attempt to remove it from the original wave file … WILLIE

I have just downloaded the demo for 3.0 to see if I wanted to purchase the upgrade, I think I am stickin with 1.5 … I have been slaming 2.0 all year, to the point that a tech working on 3.0 e-mailed me wanting to know why … So I answered in a few short words saying “because it sucks!!!!” The tech asured me that Adobe was working on all the problems that 2.0 had, but I think maybe they have created more … I didn’t really get into it but it looks like the single noise removal tool which I use a lot since I shoot an outdoors show, has been changed and doesn’t seem as user friendly as in the past where you highlight and click on repair trancient in your fav. files … 1.5 is solid and does what I want and need so I am thinking that newer may not be better … I have one other question for Adobe, Soundbooth???? What were you thinkin when you came up with this one????? That’s my story and I am stickin to it ……. WILLIE

November 25, 2007 at 4:13 pm in reply to: How do you even out the sound from a wedding event? Each is a case by case issue but captured with camcorder mic you will never be able to make it sound great because of the background noise and the ambient room noise … In most cases you will either have to go through clip by clip and increase or decrease the gain because if you try to hard limit or nomalize your percentage of gain differencial will be the same … Also when you amplify your background noise will also be amplified … My suggestion would be get a big block of time a pot of coffee and be prepaired to put some hours in … On the parts where it’s just music and nothing else I would get the tracks from the CD, and replace the tracks recorded with the camcorder … If you run into some really bad issues you can E-mail a sample to me at loganonestudio@aol.com … I wish there was a better answer but there isn’t other then if you are going to continue to do weddings buy a few wireless systems and place them on your key people, even a shotgun mic is better than the camcorder mic but you will still have issues with it … WILLIE
